International Women's Day...the first of the New Decade!!

This past Sunday was the first International Women’s Day of a New Decade, and we don’t know about you, but we were feeling it. Here at E&F, we decided why not spend a whole week celebrating all things empowering! Thus creating the EMPOWERMENT WEEK!

We wanted to shout OUT LOUD! How important it is to us that we stand together and celebrate each other. We will not settle for anything less than being seen and treated as EQUAL individuals.

We spent time celebrating our fellow female hustlers who make us wanna HUSTLE EVEN HARDER. We shouted out to dope women who we think are inspirational and make us want to all be better: @jenna_su, @the_self_hood and obvs @badgalriri are just to name a few.

Of course, it is no Elsie and Fred celebration without our fellow Riot Gurls involved. The girls discussed what empowerment feels like to them and expressed what kick-ass young inspiring women are feeling at the moment in this time.

Throughout history, women have had to fight hard to be heard, but some refuse to be ignored and we wanted to BIG THEM UP! Gina Martin, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Greta Thunberg, Katharine Hibbert, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are all prime examples of women who are experiencing BEEF right now and being BADASS about it.

We even got our staff involved, finding out what it means to be a woman in 2020. Leanne Haynes, director and female boss of Elsie and Fred said 'Being a woman in 2020 to me means HOPE, it just means keep striving, keep going and getting yours. The haters will shout loud, blank em out, be a good person, have good intentions and don't be ashamed to go out and get yours!'

Finally, we put together a cute vest as a reminder that you are entitled to always be empowered and free. All the proceeds from the will be going to the charity Women's aid and you can still buy one of our empowering vests now!
